Sony model ICF-C203L This bedside radio alarm clock dates from 1992. It is a mains operated PLL Synthesised clock radio covering the medium/long and FM wavebands. There are pushbuttons to select five pre-programmed stations as well as those to set the alarm and waveband. It was bought new and has for many years been at our bedside. As can be seen the LCD indicator displays well in daylight, but at night the green illumination is too bright and makes the display difficult to read. The other problem with this radio is that it has no battery backup so if you live in a rural area where extended power cuts can occur the radio will need retuning every now and again. This ferguson DAB clock radio which a less bright and orange display has now taken its place and the bedroom is now somewhat darker.
