![]() I have been collecting old radios, electrical and electronic test equipment over many years. A few of the items belonged to my father who was a Radio Ham, some I have bought at junk shops and others have been given to me by owners who had no further use for them. Some items are working well but many are in need of attention. I have been able to locate schematic diagrams for some items but for others I have had to resort to tracing out the circuits. Please have a look at the color photos, and help me with the identification of some of the items. As you will see several people have provided useful pieces of information concerning some of the items, if you have any suggestions or observations please let me know and I will update the pages appropriately. I still have quite a number of items to catalogue, photograph, describe and upload, so please visit again. It is my intention to repair or restore as many items as I can. Unfortunately some of the radios have lost their backs and I do not know the model numbers and others have been modified and do not have the original valves. I have a
number of old books, one of which is a 3rd edition 1916 of
"An Elementary Manual of Radiotelegraphy and Radiotelephony by J A Fleming who, 100 years ago produced the first Fleming valve. (see picture on right) One day I might make a list! Some of my radios appeared in a BBC4 TV programme "Gagging for It: TV's Hunger for Radio" on Monday 1st October 2007.

The navigation system includes thumbnails which I hope are big enough to get a general impression of the various items. Please click on those that interest you for further information. This will bring you to a page with a more detailed description and sometimes showing the interior, schematic diagram, a price guide, historical information and links to other websites. Use your Browser Back button to go back and click on another thumbnail. You could use the Google search box to find all the references on my site for a particular item. (type "repair" to see what happens) If you have a slow connection you can view items by clicking on the list (text) button on the left of this page and selecting the item you want to view. |
